As someone who’s on the computer almost all the time, I’d have to say I feel I’m pretty savvy regarding how to exploit certain elements of the internet most people simply take for granted. Oh don’t worry though, I’m not talking about pirating stuff if that’s what you’re thinking. I’m referring to searching in google for example. For instance, there are certain symbols you can insert with a desired phrase to narrow results considerably.
For today, I will be touching upon something I have just recently figured out: how to set multiple start pages. Apparently, it’s (I just don’t feel like keeping grammar consistent for today, sorry) even easier than I thought. Plus it only takes 2 clicks! Alright, this is what you do:
1. Assuming you’re using firefox, if not, then explorer already has the option to use multiple pages.
2. Goto the “Tools” option, then proceed to “Options.”
after designated site, press spacebar, insert 'pipe' symbol, then space again
3. Put in the full (http://www.blahblah…) URLs of your first page.
4. After the first site, space after last character, then insert ‘pipe’(shift+backwards slash), then space again.
5. Now type your second startpage, and repeat.
6. On the last entry, leave out the pipe
7. Press “Ok” @ bottom right to save.
8. Enjoy not always typing in site’s you immediately goto!
Note: Remember, the pages you enter are in order, some might not care, but just letting everyone know.
You just made my life sooooo much easier.
