Yume Miru Kusuri – Greatest H-Game of ALL time

As part of Final Anime Stop’s motto, we desire to bring you rich content that envokes thought. I know H isn’t everyone’s thing, but I have something I truly think everyone should check out. I don’t care if you’re a guy or girl, this game, translated in 2007 dubbed, “Yume Miru Kusuri(Drug that makes you dream)” is much different from other H games. Characters brim with emotion, color, and purpose. This game created a new standard for visual novels and has an original story.

Kouhei Kagami is a high school student with outstanding grades, but normal social life. Beginning to feel “empty and transparent,” he meets a number of girls that can prompt him to make some important, and even life-changing decisions.

Like many other games, Yume Miru Kusuri has a branching story. In this case, there are three separate arcs (or paths), each following a specific relationship with Kouhei. As expected, any given path can branch into “good” or “bad” endings. Good endings close with credits, while the bad endings do not. However, one thing I really love about this game are the range of choices you must make. Many times, you have to truly think if the choice you’ll make will really help, or actually hurt the person you’re involved with. For example, helping up a girl who fell to the floor might sound like a good idea, but will you be berated by classmates? And will these comments make the girl you helped feel even worse for helping her? Hopefully, when you play this game, you will soon find out.

If the player follows the “main” story arc, Kouhei begins to pay closer attention to Aeka Shiraki, a classmate who is maliciously bullied everyday by her classmates, and even instructor. He begins a friendship with her, not thinking much of the situation, but after she almost commits suicide, Kouhei agrees to help her with her troubles.What follows…only time will tell.

If the player follows Mizuki’s story arc, Kouhei begins a troubled relationship with the high school student council president, Mizuki Kirimiya. Like trying to read a mirror, making things out might be a bit hard, but sticking with things can be rewarding.

The last major arc is about a girl calling herself Cat Sidhe Nekoko who claims to be looking for the home of the fairies. “Kouhei, who has been forcefully asked to help her, believes Nekoko is crazy, but after ingesting some of powder she claims is fairy dust, he realizes that she is addicted to a new type of drug.” As a result, Kouhei attempts to help her with her addiction. It is up to you to determine her fate.

There are other arcs that you can choose, but the above are the primary paths taken. This game’s an 11/10 easy. When I’m able to upload the parts, be sure to download. I’ll be uploading them sometime this week most likely.
